Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), Frick, Switzerland

The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), a private foundation founded in 1973, is one of the world’s leading organic farming research and technology transfer centres.

Two FiBL departments are involved in the project.

The FiBL Socio-Economics Department has substantial competences in market and agricultural policy research and was involved in a broad range of EU- projects. The implementation of participatory approaches in research and development projects is a particular strength of the Socio-Economics department.

The FiBL Communication Department acts as a knowledge transfer and information hub for organic agriculture worldwide. It has experience in organizing scientific conferences, editing conference proceedings and scientific textbooks. Moreover, the The FiBL Communication department has published for more than ten years the organic farming statistics yearbook  “The World of Organic Agriculture - Statistics and Emerging Trends” and is responsible the website http://www.organic-europe.net.

Both departments are experienced in database management.
